Nga Pakanga o Aotearoa

Last week my literacy group Aoraki were working on this presentation called Nga Pakanga O Aotearoa. We first had to read the story then answer all of the questions in the presentation. This presentation is short because Aoraki was allowed to delete some of the slides because it was too hard and way too long.

Warehouse Workers Gives Pt England school A Donation

Today at 9:30 am the year 7 & 8 students of Pt England school had two  special visitors come into our class hall  and donate some money to us.  The special visitors that came and donated to us  were staff from the warehouse, their names were Ellie and Gapri. To welcome our special visitors  Mr Burt our principal introduced them to us and then  Toma and Marilyn started  the assembly off with the  karakia and the  mihi, then we all sung them  a waiata  called Wairua Tapu . After we all sat down Ellie and Gapri said their hello’s and then said they had a surprise for us, after that they  held up a long laminated   paper that had numbers and words written  on it, this wasn’t just any ordinary piece of laminated paper it was a donation to our school which had $1,094.46 on it.

We were all so grateful and thankful for the donation they had gave us to support our school. When we got our donation Ellie and Gapri said they had another surprise which our principal did not know about . This surprise  was an community  hero award which went to our principal Mr Burt. Not only did he get an award but h also got a $500 prezzie card, “whoa” I say to myself. Because it was time for them to leave we sung them another waiata called Te Aroha then Josephine said thank you to them and then our assembly was over.
